The Global I.T. Academy empowers students to apply critical thinking and problem-solving to real-world technology issues. Industry professionals often visit to show students how their learning applies outside the classroom. GITA offers a holistic program shaped by input from higher education, business, and the community.

Why is GITA Important in the real world?

GITA builds 21st-century skills—especially problem solving. Students learn how to fix code, manage hardware, and work as a team. These computer science skills are valuable across nearly every modern career.

GITA: Past and Present

Over the past year, shifting from C# to Java and HTML has been a transformative experience. I’ve fully immersed myself in GITA and discovered a deep love for designing. The creative process has truly captivated me, and I’ve enjoyed every moment of refining my skills. It’s been an exciting journey, and I’m enthusiastic about continuing to grow in both coding and design.

Community Impact

I contribute to a program focused on community support by assisting with event planning and coordination. As captain of my club soccer team, I emphasize strategy and team motivation. Additionally, I lead Bead Buddies, where we create and donate bracelets to patients. This summer, I also had the opportunity to further my impact through a volunteer role in Communications and Marketing, enhancing my ability to support and engage with the community.
